Your clients are accessing the web with a wide range of devices. Because of this, we as a web design company have had to adapt the way we build websites. Until recently we would only have to consider traditional desktop users when designing a website – those who view a website from a computer with a monitor. Things have changed recently with 35% of website page views being made on mobile devises ( iPhones, iPads, Android phones and tablets, Microsoft phones etc).
Now the tricky bit is that almost every mobile device has a different screen size. For example the new iPhone 5 has a screen resolution of 640 pixels x 1136 pixels (when held upright), but the iPhone 3 is only 320 pixels x 486 pixels. This presents a problem to us as web designers as a website will look different on these two phones.
Luckily there is a solution – Responsive websites! Responsive websites have a fluid layout, meaning that the website is coded in such a way it adapts to the device it is being viewed on. That way it is perfectly usable on both a smartphone and on a desktop computer.
The good news for out clients is that we’ve been working really hard to learn how to create responsive websites and now we are offering this new type of website to our clients in Pembrokeshire and beyond!
For an example of this type of website, have a look at our recently launched website http://roscoetreeservices.co.uk/ – Try changing the width of the window and you will see how the website reacts to the width change.
